Optimal water conditions – healthy growth |

Pollutants such as phosphates or organic substances that change the
color of the water are particularly bothersome in saltwater aquariums.
Freshwater aquariums should have a low phosphate concentration to ensure
optimal plant growth. Only if these parameters are permanently kept
within an optimal range can the aquarium be successful. A phosphate concentration of 0.05 mg/l or less is optimal for coral reef aquariums. At this low concentration, stony corals, in particular, grow very well and exhibit vivid coloration. Increased levels of phosphates, however, inhibit calcium carbonate formation and consequently slow down skeleton growth. At the same time, they lead to a loss in color, causing a brownish coloration in corals. Plant aquariums thrive and grow especially well if the phosphate concentration does not exceed 0.3 mg / l. These conditions support the requirements of higher plants and significantly reduce the risk of undesirable algae growth. An aquarium that is free of organic substances that color the water lets light penetrate unfiltered so that the corals and the plants can benefit from the improved light penetration. The aquarist can enjoy the plants and corals in the aquarium in their full natural colors. |

Phosphate and discoloring organics substances are compounds that occur
in minor concentrations in every aquarium on a daily basis, yet they
can accumulate and reach detrimental concentrations over a long period
of time. Tropic Marin® now offers the new ELIMI-CONTROL filter system
to lower high concentrations and to maintain an optimal range of these
detrimental compounds. The slow controllable flow through the filter in conjunction with highly effective adsorbing materials ensures that the ELIMI-CONTROL filter system reduces the concentration of pollutants to zero in just one cycle. Until now the efficiency of any phosphate removing media could only be checked indirectly, often resulting in a “too little, too late” scenario and a rise in the phosphate level in the tank. Now, with the Tropic Marin® ELIMI-CONTROL filter, the media can be checked directly at the filter outflow resulting in an immediate measure of the remaining media capacity for adsorption. |

Additional Cartridges To increase the capacity of the corresponding filter-sets for aquariums with volumes of more than 600 l / 160 US-gal and for aquariums with extremely high levels of contamination. To expand a filter-set to get a combination phosphate / discoloring organic substances in tanks with volumes up to 600 l / 160 US-gal if both phosphate level and discoloring organic substances need to be reduced simultaneously. Set up as an application as a bypass filter for an existing
filtration system. |
